NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
HAMPTON BAYS HIGH SCHOOL Membership in the Hampton Bays High School Chapter of the National Honor Society is based on four pillars: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Students first qualify on the basis of scholarship alone, where they earn a cumulative GPA in grades 9-12 of 91.5 or higher. After receiving this initial notification, students must further inform the Faculty Council about their academics, along with leadership abilities, service, and character. A faculty council, appointed by the principal, will evaluate all pillars and vote to determine acceptance. In order to be a member of the Hampton Bays Chapter of the National Honor Society, students are required to participate in service activities. All members are expected to complete 10 hours of community service during the school year. Meetings will be held regularly and fundraisers will be sponsored throughout the school year. In addition, attendance is expected at the future Induction Ceremony for new members. Please contact Mrs. Miedema at (631) 723-2110 x3310 or [email protected] with any questions.
